Christine Caven is the Director of Communications for PS27 Ventures that is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.  Christine will talk about who PS27 is, how the company was started, and who they prefer to invest with.  We also talk about how they are also giving back to the community in the form of events and opportunities designed to support entrepreneurs of all backgrounds and life experiences through the PS27 Foundation.  

VyStar Champions Women in Tech as Title Sponsor of the PS27 Female Founders Forum

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan 10, 2023 – PS27 Foundation is pleased to announce VyStar Credit Union, one of the fastest-growing financial services institutions in the Southeast, as the title sponsor of the 8th Annual Female Founders Forum (F3). The event takes place at the Adam Herbert University Center on the University of North Florida campus on March 3, 2023. The highly anticipated program celebrates International Women's Day with an expected sell-out audience of women entrepreneurs, business owners, and innovators across the region. The day will feature a keynote address by entrepreneur Sarah Kauss, Founder of S'well, a multi-million dollar global brand, followed by a presentation by Kawanza Humphrey, Chief Human Resources Officer at VyStar Credit Union.

In addition to these industry thought leaders, F3 will feature the first-of-its-kind Female Founders Shark Tank, where the five women founders will compete in front of a live audience for a possible venture capital investment of $250,000. 

The event also features over 20 local women-owned companies that will showcase their products and services throughout the conference.

The annual forum aims to empower and inspire more women to become entrepreneurs, founders, and innovators through building relationships with a network of successful female founders and leaders in business. Flagler College 6th Annual Business Week: Back to Business

PS27 Foundation Director, Emmanuel Fortune, participated in Flagler College’s 6th Annual Business Week as a Judge in their Pitch Competition where Lashed! Beauty Bar was awarded the Lion’s Cage Grand Prize winner of $2,500.

Our goal was to educate students about the processes and functions that have evolved in this post-COVID era, and we are confident that each student took away learning opportunities from each event.

The Business Administration Department at Flagler College offers majors in 9 strategic areas: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Business, Marketing, Social Entrepreneurship, and Sport Management. It is the largest department on campus with over 700 majors or approximately 30% of the student body. We were excited to have 15 student presentations in the Saints Showcase, and have 5 teams advance to the Lion’s Cage event.

You Should Know: Emmanuel Fortune, Executive Director of PS27 Foundation

Emmanuel Fortune, 36, is the first executive director, as of Feb. 1, of the 6-year-old PS27 Foundation, which is expanding education and leadership programming for startup founders and small business CEOs.

It also seeks partnerships with local and national organizations to promote entrepreneurship. It works with PS27 Ventures, which invests capital in early-stage technology and other companies in high-growth markets.
